This Privacy Policy explains how CA Exam Edge ("CA Exam Edge", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use https://caexamedge.in (the "Website") and our services, including exam tests, guidance and mentorship calls (the "Services").
We process personal data in accordance with applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it, as and when applicable.
1. Personal data we collect
Information you give us:
- Name, email address, mobile number and city
- Details about your CA studies, such as your level (Foundation, Intermediate or Final), target attempt and optional: ICAI registration number
- Information you share in booking forms, emails, messages or during mentorship calls
- Answer sheets and responses you submit in tests
- For students under 18: the name and contact details of a parent or guardian
Information collected automatically:
- Device and browser information, IP address, pages visited and time spent on the Website, collected through cookies and similar technologies
- Test activity, such as login times, tests attempted and scores
Payment information:
Payments are processed by our payment partner, Razorpay. We do not collect or store your full card, UPI or bank account details. We receive only a transaction reference, payment status and amount.
2. Why we use your data
We use your personal data only for the following purposes:
- To create and manage your account and give you access to the Services
- To schedule and conduct mentorship calls and send confirmations and reminders
- To deliver exam tests, evaluate answer sheets and share feedback
- To process payments, issue invoices and handle refunds
- To respond to your questions, requests and complaints
- To send you updates about the Services you have purchased
- To send you information about new exam tests, offers or content, only where you have agreed to receive it (you can opt out at any time)
- To improve the Website and Services
- To comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations
3. Consent
Where we rely on your consent, we will ask for it clearly before collecting your data. You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to support@caexamedge.in. Withdrawing consent will not affect processing already carried out, but we may be unable to continue providing some Services.
4. Students under 18
Many CA aspirants begin the course before turning 18. If you are under 18, you may use the Services and share personal data with us only with the consent and involvement of your parent or lawful guardian, and purchases must be made by or with the approval of that parent or guardian. We will take reasonable steps to obtain and verify such consent as required by law. We do not use the personal data of students under 18 for targeted advertising or behavioural monitoring.
5. Who we share your data with
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us run the Services, such as our payment gateway (Razorpay), website hosting, video-call platforms (Google Meet / Zoom), email and messaging tools, and online test platforms, only to the extent needed for them to perform their work for us
- Professional advisers such as accountants and auditors, where required
- Government or regulatory authorities, where required by law or court order
Some service providers may store data on servers located outside India. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data remains protected and that such transfer is permitted under Indian law.
6. Recording of mentorship calls
We do not record mentorship calls unless we have told you beforehand and you have agreed. Students may not record calls without our prior written consent.
7. Cookies
We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences and understand how visitors use the Website through tools such as Google Analytics. You can control or disable cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the Website may not work properly without them.
8. How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law (for example, invoices and payment records are retained for the period required under tax laws). When data is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
9. How we protect your data
We use reasonable security practices, including secure (HTTPS) connections, access controls and trusted service providers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.
